Programme Overview
Our Medicine programme provides GCSE, A-Level, IB and university students with a broad and thorough insight into the career of a medical professional. Our work experience programme has been specially designed and is taught by leading medical professionals who have worked in medical specialisms and sectors including surgery, general practice, radiology, biomedicine, medical law, academic research, and others.
Through a blend of lectures, theoretical content teaching, case studies, workshops and networking sessions, students will benefit from the deep expertise of our medical professionals and significantly enhance their CV, career prospects, and university and medical school applications.
Students will receive a thorough introduction into medicine, focusing specifically on establishing an understanding of what medicine is, the different healthcare systems across the world, the current issues shaping the health industry, and the development of medicine and medicinal technologies. The different fields of medicine will also be showcased to students, enabling students to understand the range of specialisms available to them. Medical career paths in these different fields will be explored in detail with our industry professionals and supplemented with an overview of new emerging avenues of medicine.
Students will have the opportunity to work on acute symptom diagnosis case studies which doctors commonly experience in the workplace, thus gaining tangible experience for their university applications and CV. Workshops focused on medical school interviews and OSCE interviews will also allow students to perfect their preparation ahead of applying to higher education.
Additionally, students will have first hand exposure to exclusive networking and Q&A sessions with guest speakers and medical professionals across the medical industry. Advice and guidance will also be provided to students on university and A-Level / IB choices to enhance their career options and maximise their likelihood of breaking into the highly competitive medical industry.
